You know, I do mass theft of movies (because it's easy), and I had this in my cue for the longest time and probably wouldn't have watched it but for you finally being clear whether it was good or not (you are like Steyn with Critics Disease: Is. It. Any. Fucking. GOOD. Love ya Treach, but occasionally you're just a hipster shit)

Upon reflection, I notice I didn't mean that to sound as mean as it came out.

Haven't seen it but I am going to buy the DVD this weekend . . . some long flights next week and I need something to watch on my portable DVD player. I just hope the passengers and crew don't complain about my giggling.

> you are like Steyn with Critics Disease
What does that mean? Are you being ironic? Could Treach have been any clearer about his opinion of the film?

Pass.

Well, "should have been huge" from the previous post could have been anything from irony to an inside movie joke. Since he normally aims for funny in his five word reviews, I assumed irony. 'Cause, ah, told straight, it ain't. Not like him. So. Uhm. There.

It should have been huge because it bombed even though it's really funny and has some great songs. Meanwhile, stupid movies like Meet the Spartans rake it in hand over fist. It stinks.
Hope that helps clear things up.

They ran an ad campaign that was similar in tone to movies like Meet the Spartans - hoping to attract that crowd, which obviously wouldn't go for something like this. Too intelligent.

Jesus, you were right, T- "It doesn't give you a hangover. It's not habit forming"- Christ, I'm still laughing 20 minutes later. I had to stop the damned movie because of that.

"You don't want any part of this shit!" Instant classic. And the first time I can remember Tim Meadows ever making me laugh.

Really? I always liked him. He always seems to have, I don't know, something going on upstairs...not something you can say about every actor. Anyway, his most beautiful part comes from NOT underacting those lines: for that, you need to gnaw on a little scenery. Just the right amount. Yeah, this should have done bettah: when I think that Eddie Murphy movies...oh god. Have to sit down.
