Oceanic 6, Audience 0

Male Jim Treacher | Category: TV

Just kidding! I go back and forth between thinking Lost is the best show ever and hating it with every fiber of my being. (And I've got a lot of fibers.) Right now I'm somewhere in-between. I really shouldn't read interviews with Damon Lindelof.

Who's the last one of the Oceanic Six? Or is it the last two? Who's Ben's "man on the boat"? Is it even a man at all? How the hell should I know? Let's liveblog this bitch!

Seriously, why don't I just go to a Lost blog or fansite instead of this one? It's getting to be a bit much, particularly in light of the fact that Lost isn't even that popular a show anymore.

Yeah, seriously. Think of Neil's needs for a change. Also, if the tombstone says Jin died in 2004, and it's Christmas Eve when Sayid and Desmond show up on the boat, does that mean Jin's only got less than a week? I'm bad at math.

Until now, I wasn't aware you were doing either. But I'll play along: Why don't you?

I often stop watching or talking about shows I enjoy when they become less popular.

So the date of death on jin's tombstone is 9/22/04. Yay, he might still be alive on the island!

I think the date on the tombstone is part of the cover story. That's the date of the plane crash, and apparently in the cover story Jin wasn't one of the 8 who were supposed to have survived. And judging by Sun's reaction, she's not expecting to see Jin again. She'd have no reason to fake it in front of Hurley, who is in on the cover story.

Jin is fin.

We have 3.5 (2.5?) seasons left, someone's gotta go back at some point.

Man, the Island sure is unforgiving toward folks who get DUIs in Hawaii.

I just watched Sun's speech at the end again. I'm not sure she says or does anything to truly indicate whether Jin is dead, or still alive on the island and couldn't leave for whatever Lost-logical reason. "I miss you, I named her what you wanted, the doctor said I called out for you."

You're right, she wouldn't have to fake it in front of Hurley, but if Jin is alive and Sun knows she'll never see him again, she'd probably...cry and say she missed him. Of course, why would she have to visit the tombstone? If she just wanted to talk to him in absentia, she could just use a picture or something.

Then again, it's Lost, and after this episode I wouldn't put any amount of cheating shit past those assholes.
