The Oscars

Female Jackie D | Category: Movies

I love you guys and everything, but not unconditionally. I don't even think I'd sit through the Oscars for my own (non-existent!) offspring. What a wise stance this proved to be this year in particular, since not even the fashion was of any interest. From start to finish, the Academy Awards were about as exciting as Cream of Wheat eaten with a plastic baby spoon. Or, in Michael K's words:

Overall, it was everything I thought it would be....BORING!

He has the winners listed if your eyes are still open. I'm seriously getting sleepy just thinking about those big gold dildoes.

I'm so glad I decided not to live-blog it. I hope it's the lowest-rated Oscars ever and they all die.

I watched Goren and Eames look at each other quizically and with arched eyebrows over the course of three hours on Bravo.

Thank God for TIVO! I probably watched about 20 minutes total and even that was boring. Josh Brolin is a typical example of the hollywood suck-ass! Man!..Don't these people have any shame? And that bitch at the end who presented the best actor award. Could the old bat have taken any more of her sweet time? What an arrogant cunt! Oh, sorry..

I didn't see any of the pictures nominated for Best Picture, but I did just read the summary of No Country for Old Men at The Movie Spoiler. That movie must really suck if this was the whole story. Granted the performances may have been good but really the story was a non-story. Was it really this bad?

My favourite moment, as always, was the clip about the Scientific and Technical Awards dinner, which is always hosted by whoever is the hottest girl in Hollywood at the moment (this year: Jessica Alba). It's as if they feel sorry for all the aging geeks and nerds who aren't invited to the actual ceremony and decide to give them a little thrill.
