Question of the day
Is this Best Buy manager any more of a douche than the likes of Harvey Levin of TMZ and, er, VH1, both one of many media companies making a huge amount of money off the death of Heath Ledger?
Frankly, I have no problem with people making money any way they want, as long as they didn't steal it or defraud anyone. But it's a bit much for someone who's paid to generate ad revenue to get all high and mighty right now.

Guys, guys... Harvey Levin didn't kill Heath Ledger. Harvey Levin didn't convince a distractible, appealingly-bland Aussie to make a career in a shallow industry run by some of the world's most aggressive businessmen. Heath Ledger was going to die anyway, OK? Or somebody was... Celebrities die young just like other kinds of people.
Anybuddy remember Phil Donahue? He was the guy who kept the studio warm until Oprah Winfrey came into existence; He was Larry Bird to her Michael Jordan. In the 1980's there was a spasm of populist talk shows. He was about the only one who had the good sense to defend them, by pointing out that they were just sources of information. Maybe someday one of them would be interesting to you, but if not, no one had put a gun to your head to insist that you pay attention.
Did I miss something? I'd rather read this site than TMZ, and have never seen the new TV show since it actually made air. (See Kamal's post about handheld video from earlier in the week.) Did somebody see Levin stick a shiv into a grandmother's ribs or something? Who's getting "all high and mighty"?
